Cookie Policy

Winnipeg Notary Services uses a variety of web technologies on our website to improve your online experience. Among these are cookies, which are pieces of information that our websites provide to your browser. Cookies allow us to track overall site usage and determine areas users prefer. Cookies also allow us to customize your visit to our websites by recognizing you when you return. Cookies cannot be used to see any other data on your computer, nor can they determine your email address or identity. Most browsers accept and maintain cookies by default. Check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preference. You can choose to decline cookies while at our website, but this may limit your ability to access certain areas of the website.

We use this data to better understand website usage in the aggregate so that we know what areas of our website users prefer. This information is stored in log files and is used for aggregated and statistical reporting. This log information is not linked to personal information gathered elsewhere on the site. Advertising networks that serve ads may assign different cookies to you. Those cookies may be used to track your involvement with the advertising site. You may choose not to accept these cookies. Winnipeg Notary Services does not control these parties, and you should review their privacy policies to learn more about what, why and how they collect and use personal information.

Google Analytics and Interest-based Advertising

This section of our Privacy Notice provides details about interest-based online advertising (also called "targeted advertising", “remarketing”, or "behavioral advertising"), Google Analytics, and your choices with respect to this type of advertising.

Winnipeg Notary Services collects data about your activities that does not personally or directly identify you when you visit our website, and the websites and online services where we display advertisements (“Publishers”). We use Google Analytics Advertising Features, including 3rd-party audience data such as age, gender, interests and data on the content engagement you view,  and location information associated with IP addresses to better understand the behavior of our customers.

Information collected online through automated means is used for purposes such as (i) optimizing our users' visits to our Website; (ii) delivering content (including advertising) tailored to our users' interests and the manner in which our users browse our Website; (iii) measuring and managing the advertising effectiveness of our online and offline advertisements and events; and (iv) managing our business. We also use this information to help diagnose technical and service problems, and administer our Website. We use clickstream data to determine how much time users spend on web pages of our web properties, how users navigate through our websites, and how we may tailor our websites to better meet the needs of our users.

You may see certain ads because we contract with Google and other similar companies to target our ads based on information we or they have collected, including information that was collected through automated means (such as cookies and web beacons). These companies also use automated technologies to collect information when you click on our ads, which helps track and manage the effectiveness of our marketing efforts.

You may opt out of the automated collection of information by third-party ad networks for the purpose of delivering advertisements tailored to your interests at any time by visiting the consumer opt-out page for the Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising and editing or opting-out in your Google Display Network ads’ preferences. Because those opt-out and preference control pages are specific to the individual browser used to visit it, and because that page is not operated by Telpay, we are unable to perform the opt-outs on your behalf.

How We Use the Information We Collect

When we collect information from you, we may use it for a number of purposes, including to:

  • Evaluate the success of marketing initiatives;

  • Identify your product and service preferences;

  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests, comments and inquiries;

  • Comply with and enforce applicable legal requirements, industry standards, our policies, and our Terms of Use; and performing market research, and administering our Website).

We also may use the information in other ways for which we provide specific notice at the time of collection. If you have any questions about our privacy policy, please contact us for more information.
